Best Robot Floor Cleaner
Robotic mops are more effective than vacuum cleaners that need you to sweep the floor before they can do their job. They are also better at cleaning around edges and thresholds.
Our favorite is the iRobot Combo j5+, which scored well in CR's tests for mopping and vacuuming. It deftly navigates household obstacles and leaves hardwood floors spotless, as well as cleaning carpets with low pile.
iRobot Roomba Combo i5
This robot vacuum and mop is one of the most versatile machines made by iRobot. It comes with the standard dustbin that can be used for dry waste as well as an additional water tank for wet waste. The tank is simple to fill and will notify you when it's empty. You can also purchase a factory-compatible cleaning concentrate to use with this machine.
It is very good at navigating the floor and avoiding obstacles. It has a retractable mops which prevents carpets from getting wet. The robot is also effective in removing pet hair from different floor surfaces. It is loud and doesn't perform as well as other competitors when it comes to picking up dirt and debris on bare floors.
The Roomba Combo i5 is an excellent choice for people who need a powerful device capable of both vacuuming and mopping without any additional equipment. It is best suited for homes that do not have carpeting and the majority of hardwood floors. However, it's not a good choice for households with lots of stairs or large rooms with many rugs. It's also expensive but it has the features and performance to justify the price tag.
It utilizes its own patent-pending Dirt Detect technology to pinpoint areas that have more dirt buildup and to clean them more thoroughly than other 2-in-1s. It has an advanced navigation system that lets it navigate in neat rows to efficiently cover the walls of the room. The mop pads can be washed and can be reused up to 30 times.

Create your own personal cleaning schedule with the iRobot Home App or your voice assistant1. Utilize the iRobot App to create an agenda and add rooms you'd like to avoid during future mopping sessions.
The iRobot Combo j5+ is an affordable alternative to the i7 or J9 combo models. It features similar mops with the patented dirt detection system as well as powerful vacuuming. The iRobot j5+ performs well in our vacuuming and mopping stress test, but not as well as the Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni. This makes the Combo J5+ a more versatile option.

Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra, a highly-rated and highly-functional Gen 4 robotic vacuum and mop is a high-quality machine. The price of $1400 may be hard to swallow but it's often available to make it more affordable. The unit looks fantastic and the base occupies very little room in a corner.
The design of this robot is able to address a few problems that we have encountered with other robotic mop and vacuum models, for example, the brushes becoming entangled in hair, and the vacuum brush being unable to reach floors that are not covered by furniture. The sweeping capabilities are impressive on carpets and flooring. The vacuum/mop system has a high amount of debris removal and the mop can soak up floors that are not soiled.
The mops utilize a clever system that cleans the edges of walls, and around furniture. best vacuums can easily avoid obstacles like food bowls, toys, and backpacks. It could get caught or entangled with smaller, less hefty objects such as shoelaces, USB cable, and pens.
This robot was used to mop and vacuum hardwood flooring, FLOR carpet tiles and pile rugs in a huge open-plan home. It cleaned and mopped the 90 square meters in 170 minutes using FREO Mind enabled. This is a bit more than the average for Gen 4 robots.
A number of features set this robot apart from other models in its class. The Freo X Ultra has a number of software, sensors and hardware improvements designed to keep it at the top of its category. It promises 3.5 hours of autonomy for environments of up to 260 square meters.
You can alter a variety of features of the Freo app, such as how often the robot returns to the base station as well as its mopping frequency and power (silent or smart) and its mopping humidity. The app can detect heavily stained areas and design an effective cleaning route. It can also distribute detergent and raise the carpet pads.
Other notable features include a rapid charging battery, a clear display on the robot's bottom, and a convenient dock door that can be opened easily. Miele Scout RX3
Miele is no slouches in the robot vacuuming world and is known for its quality and innovation. This new robot is designed to elevate the cleaning performance to a whole new level, with its innovative features.
The RX3 comes with dual suction, intelligent navigation with 3D mapping, and a camera that sends live images to your smartphone for simple control. The RX3's four-stage system provides excellent dust collection on carpets and hard floors. Swing-out side brushes as well as dual suction channels and a user-friendly interface clean corners. Its 8.5 cm height lets it get under low furniture. Front cameras and infrared sensor assist in navigating barriers, thresholds and obstacles with ease.
The Scout RX3 impressed us in our test of how well it cleaned baking powder from baseboards and corners. Its suction of 2,500Pa was weaker than other robots, but it was still very quiet and moved quickly. It didn't mop however its washable pads were a bit difficult to attach and could not deal with dirt that had dried on.
The app doesn't have advanced features like multiple cleaning modes or automated scheduling. It works with Alexa however its voice commands don't seem to be very clear or responsive. It's also a little erratic when it comes back to the charging station after a run. Other robots can follow an obstruction or follow a previous route however the RX3 stumbles around until it finally gives up.
Another issue we had was with its smart features, specifically the mapping function as well as digital keep-out zones. While it did a good job of avoiding our furniture legs and shoes but it could easily be caught by socks and cables, and was unable to handle the tassels on rugs. We didn't include the Scout RX3 in our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and a dazzling performance. It's worth looking into as an alternative to the traditional uprights.
